I was saying to a friend that a pedal that approximates the sound of the boost on my amp that is a tone stack lift would be cool, though I’m pretty sure that’s impossible. Obviously for use with other amps. It’s a very uncompressed and immediate raw sound that is awesome for solos.

This is good info. I just picked up an FX8 and have been struggling with tone loss and weird volume differences. I noticed the noise gate but now I will make sure it's disabled. I'm trying to set up a wet/dry/wet which makes everything even touchier it seems. Trying various routing scenarios...
