+1 for the Chopper. I tried a few different rails (in the Dimarzio ecosystem) to match up with vintage Strat pickups and that's where I ended up.

I guess I'm in the minority. I've always preferred EB Slinkys. I also like the Paradigms (they do last considerably longer).

Personally I'd go with a good IR loader on your computer, fed from any load box you like. Maximum flexibility. I'm currently using one of the York IR packs with a stereo room capture (fed from a Suhr RL) and, honestly, it's the closest I've ever felt to playing with a cabinet in the room...

I've had the Captor and the Suhr, much preferred the Suhr. You can find the non IR version second hand. (Though it's a bit more than the Captor.) I'm also a fan of keeping the components separate. So when you need an IR loader live, you don't have to drag the load box with you.

I use a couple of wedge-shaped plexiglass diffusers ("ToneShield") with a 2x12. Mostly for dispersion, so you can hear yourself everywhere on stage. But it kills the beam so you can crank your amp and you're not going to take anyone's head off. Works well.

Personally I always stick a volume pedal in the loop so I can adjust as necessary ... if you're always too loud this might be handy. In this case you could stick with the same approach (amp out --> PS100 --> cab), but in the amp's loop (or the PS100 loop), run the FX send to the Lehle Y, one...

I had an Iridium- there is a bit of 60 Hz noise in the background that you only hear at low volumes. I didn't hear it with the Amp 1 Mercury so I wrote to Bluguitar about it and they said that's normal for the unit. So ... doesn't sound like any kind of issue.
