Wow........is this still on the first page ??? Some of you guys crack me up. I'm 44 myself, but you guys come on here slagging the bands you grew up with and worshipped at one time. I occasionally pop in here looking for something gear related that is interesting.........instead I get multi...
If for some crazy reason you ever sell the Morris please let me be first in line. My single channel Perplex'd is the best amp I've ever played. But I don't feel special anymore without those extra channels!
This is why I don't order MCP. FWIW, I had a set of Detroiters and liked them. Hated the Afwayu I tried. Order from Wolfetone or WCR and you get them before the week is over. I haven't liked any BKP's that I've tried.........but at least when I've ordered direct I've received them in about 10...
Finally got this thing in today. Gave it a run through at the rehearsal space and it killed. We compared it to the following through 3 different amps:
Keeley SD-1
MXR GT-OD
Fulltone OCD v4
BBE Green Screamer & BBE Gus G
Boss OD-3
Bad Monkey
TC Electronic Spark Boost
Honestly it was no contest...
Had both at the same time in identical cabs. Sold the BM-75's and kept the Chinese GB's.......much more musical to my ears. BM-75's sounded bloated and grainy at the same time. My other guitar player felt the same way.
I've used Tortex T3 since they came out (.73 and .88).
However, I'm currently in love with Techra picks. Hard to find......but extremely fast and sound much better than Tortex. Jazz tip guys probably won't like them though.
EDIT: just went to Techra's page and see they now offer Jazz tips
Meatiest sounding, easiest to play guitars out there IMO. I've owned 5 over the last 20 years. All of them sounded great. At some point they started not looking "correct" with the type of music I was playing. Be careful if you have a few beers as well.....all those horns are notorious for...
They are nothing alike. I have both sitting in a parts drawer because I can't stand either.......for different reasons:
Rebel Yell - super tight, all high mids and highs, nonexistent lows (in my LP)
Custom 5 - loose overwhelming lows, totally scooped in mids, trashy sounding treble
Quarter Pound gets my vote. Still plenty of quack in position 2. I used them for a long time until I converted my strat back to stock. I actually have 2 of them sitting unused. I'll send you one for $25 if you want to try it. Don't mean to SPAM you, but I'm no longer using the QP's
Another...
The clip sounds great......but I'm gonna have to agree here. I tried the bridge in both my Les Paul and V and it came out fast both times. Extremely unforgiving and bright. I still don't get the BKP hype. I've tried the Mule, Rebel Yell, Cold Sweat, Nailbomb and Holy Diver. None of them stuck...
Wow....someone should be fired. I ordered a "new" 1960BX from them that arrived damaged. I sent it back and they sent me another damaged one. Someone contacted me through a RT pm and tried to make it right. But I gave up at that point and took the refund. Then they charged me for return shipping...
When I had mine......I preferred Heritage G12H 75hz and Lynchbacks in that order. I also liked the RI Greenbacks over the EVH/Heritage Greenbacks. Did NOT like Vintage 30's, Anniversary H30's, or Scumback BM75's. All our ears are different though.
