I have one and love it. Its my #2. Right behind my suhr modern mahogany/maple top #1. I have a Black Limba with maple top on order right not as well. A little cross pollination.
Everyones got an opinion. But I couldn't disagree more. I've owned Anderson, Tyler and charvels along with PRS, custom shop gibson and fender and I would take my Suhrs over all of them. In fact I would take my suhrs over anything out there. They fit me. Just an outstanding guitar. Just...
The Landry and BE are the most alike. (The Landry feels better to me and has a better clean) The Helios is between these two and the MP. And the MP is the most raw hot rodded plexi tone of them all. Just the way my ears hear it. And my fingers feel it.
Agree the small box has a more saturated feel. Disagree on the pinch harmonics. Pinch harmonics are a breeze on both. With a little technique....pretty easy on any distorted amp.
I guess when I say "the most Marshall of the bunch". I'm speaking of the plexi. In my head that's the bench mark Marshall tone. Even though I do love a good 800. But a good 800 is sometimes hard to find.
I agree with you. The BE is my least favorite of all the amps mentioned in the thread. You should try the metro plex. No attenuator needed. The master is as good or better than the G3.
IMHO the MP is way more Marshall than the Helios and the BE. The MP is like the best old plexi you've ever heard on roids. I don't use the 80's mode on the Helios. I like the 70's mode. The way I use the amp, the clean on the Helios works just fine. To me the BE has a processed feel...
I've never had an issue with noise in the loop on my Helios. I like the feel and some what rawness of the Helios. The BE is a little too refined for me. But thats just my 2 cents. They are both fine amps.
Only had the Naylor a couple of weeks. I'm still gigging with the Helios and have been for the last year or so. If I had to choose now, the Boger stays. Once I've had more time with the Naylor, that could change.
The clean and dirty knobs on the Naylor are volume/gain for the respective channels. Then the master is over all volume for the amp. The MP reacts to your fingers well. But the Naylor is the more touch sensitive of the two. Like I said the Naylor is the most touch sensitive amp I've ever...
SAMs video is a pretty good representation of it. It does have a lot more gain on tap than he is using if you want it. I'm not a real high gain player so I keep it about 50%. So far I'm really digging it. The response to your fingers and pick attack is insane. I've never played anything...
I have a 12,000 series in the stable too. If your Germino is like it, you certainly have the old plexi tone covered. The MP has a ton more gain than the 12,000 series but retains the plexi tone. It's an extremely cool amp. I wish I could have kept it. And will probably try and pick up a...
You would want the Helios. In 80's mode it has plenty of hair sizzle. (I like the 70s mode personally). To my ears the BE has the most hair. Just my 2 cents
