Out of the 4 you mentioned I have a major soft spot for the Friedman BE-100 Deluxe and would highly recommend it. I've got an uberschall ultra like yourself here and a few other amps in that heavier end of things but the deluxe is just such a joy to play if you're in the hard rock kind of mood...

I went through tons of different types over the years but ended up landing in the ballpark of larger jazz 3 type picks over the past 3-4 years. I've been pretty set on the Dunlop Flow 1.5's for ages now though, enough to hang on to compared to the tiny jazz 3's but also not a super sharp point.

Hard agree on this. The one kit wonder metal and aggressive rock kits are both fantastic! I usually blend them with some of the other kits if I want to deviate away from those base sounds.

You could grab EZDrummer3 if you want something simple and quick? It's all "Premixed" so things will sound decent out of the box. It'll have midi grooves and loops built in that you can use, you can then edit these if you need to.
