I would say bass isn't it's strongest-suit, but when I take the casters off and put it on the floor and crank it, it does a great job in my opinion. Doesn't sound like an Orange 4x12. lol But, you know.
I had a Friedman 4x12 with the Greenbacks/V30's when I got the BE100-D and really preferred...
After much regret for selling a RV I and returning a MK III (the reverb was messed up and I didn't care to replace it), I finally got another MK III RV 100. I think the color pulled me in and the difference from all the Marshalls held on. I love Marshall's but I had so many of that type of sound...
I have one and love it like crazy. Well made and I think the EVH speakers sound incredible. I had some Chinese Greenbacks (which some say they prefer I think I read?) and I didn't like them nearly as well. To each their own, certainly.
I agree. I have an AFD and really enjoy playing it. It did take a lot of messing with it to realize that though, I didn't like it at all for a while.
I had a Tremoverb I didn't care for. Supposedly belonged to Duran Duran at one point? As crazy as it sounds, knowing that still didn't make me...
I had the BE100 Deluxe and didn't like it much, for the same general reasons mentioned. I think it sounded very smooth and polished and wasn't what I wanted.
Now I have a JJ Jr and Butterslax. Still polished, I guess that's the sound, but the Slax has an incredible clean that dirties up so damn...
I have an Orange 4x12 of them. 2 classics and 2 of the BLS version mixed. I love them, the louder the better. I play metal mostly. There are times I want more character though. SO loud, so powerful. They definitely rely on amp character.
Zakk does use them still I think.
I'm less whatever they are and I guess that makes me more of you all. :D I like that when I ask a question here, I get reasonable suggestions for regular people. I know what I'm getting suggested at TGP, and I won't afford it. lol
