What's your favorite boost for your Diezel? What amp?

I've got a Boo Instruments 808 clone, which is pretty sick to boost any high gain amp. I've also got the Boss SD1-waza. I'm looking at getting a Wampler Tumnus Deluxe as well.

Does anyone know how to get a response from support?

Always had great turn around times for me, and extremely helpful.

Anyone using Tonex to capture their rigs?

Tonocracy has just gone free, and has some capture tech built into it. It also supports NAM I believe. So might be a more user friendly way to capture your own amps?? You'd need to add an effects package though, because it doesn't really have good effects. I have a range of ToneX captures here...

    Diezel VH4 Blueface

Interesting. I've never read that to be honest. For me, my 2001 VH4 isn't "dark" as such. But the low-end is quite different to that of my JVM and Dual Rectifier, for example. Some of my friends have described it as being kind of like a fuzz pedal, and I sort of see where they're coming from...

    Diezel VH4 Blueface

Right... so for the clean channel. Not really relevant to "Joanz Toanz" in that case???? Channel 3 differences are what I'm most interested in tbh. No idea! I've already replaced the hum-pot with resistors, and I have replaced the midi chip and associated capacitors. I also did the...

    Diezel VH4 Blueface

I know my 2001 Silverface sounds markedly difference to the clips I've heard of the 2010+ Silverfaces. But from what I've read, the early 2000's Silverfaces aren't any different schematic-wise to the Blueface models. Would *love* to know if that is true though.

    Diezel VH4 Blueface

What are the actual differences at the schematic level between an early blueface, a 2001 silverface, and a current silverface?

    Diezel Shootout

It is what it is. In this shootout, I prefer Hagen, VH4, D-Moll.... But I've gigged the D-Moll so many times over the last 8 years or so, and I know I like. Genuinely think I just dialled it in a bit poorer than the others.

Still one of the best amps out there...

    Monster combination tbh!

Diezel Amps with Deep turned off and Presence low -> like a new Amp!

I think it is also a circuit revision thing. My 2001 does seem to sound quite different to all these newer VH4's.

    Modelers suck

My schlong is average. My amp collection is average. My riffs are average.

    Modelers suck

When I got my first fleshlight .. sorry, I mean modeller... it would've been early 2000's. I only started playing guitar in 2004. Got a PodXTLive and a Pod 2.0 around that time, so I pretty much started out on modellers. When I got my first proper valve amp - a Laney VH100R - I was in hogs...

    Modelers suck

I'll happily use Axe FX III or Helix for live effects. But for amps?? Nah... I just aint really down with it. When I rock out even just at home through a valve amp, I can improvise whole songs, riffs, structures, ideas... record it all down in one fluid motion. Then approach it and edit it...

    Diezel Shootout

I think I could've scooped the mids on the D-Moll a bit more. I tried to rely on the mid-cut, but I realised after doing the clip that the mids on the channel EQ were quite high. I love all three amps to be honest, but yeah... VH4 and Hagen were the ones I preferred for this.

Diezel Amps with Deep turned off and Presence low -> like a new Amp!

    On my 2001 VH4 I run deep around 1 o'clock and presence around 3 o'clock.

Is the Axe FX III that much better than an XL+ II?

It genuinely is a generational shift. I was never happy with the Axe II. But very happy with the Axe III - the amps are better, and so are many of the effects.

    Diezel VH4 into a Marshall 1960A

    I have a JCM800 1960 Lead 4x12 with T75's, and yeah, I've got a VH4 too. I can do some clips at some point.
