Second Vote for the D’Addario NYXL strings. Noticeably improved tuning stability with my non-locking trem guitars and they feel smooth and new for a long time.
I hear something in the deliverance that reminds me of what Mesa was doing with the Badlander. A nod to the more traditional, tighter 800’ish tones with more flexibility in the tone stack and more gain on tap. Cool amp.
Political divide, international unrest, war, protest, pronouns, taxing those who work the hardest to dole out to those who have never worked, the list goes on. That’s the list of reasons that I always check this thread FIRST every time I log into RigTalk. ‘Monkey’s Angels’ always guide me to...
I’ve had great results with the Duncan Lil’ 59 in the neck position of guitars with single coil routes.
Very hard to describe. Enough punch to keep up with the bridge Humbucker, where some true singles and even ‘stacked’ versions have a noticeable drop in output. But those lil humbuckers with...
Great advice on this thread. I’d totally leave it - maybe swab sone tung oil or Danish oil in the bare spot. But I think that just gives an already ‘cool as hell’ guitar more Mojo.
And I need to add - having been a guitar geek since the early 80s and G.I.T. 89-90, last night was honestly the first time I had EVER seen Satriani live and had only seen Vai 1ce with DLR - never just his solo set.
Got to see Satriani and Vai at the Uptown in Kansas City last night. Killer, killer venue filled with history and vibe. Vai played the opening set. At 63, he still looks great, and performs with tons of energy. Looks like he was using some Synergy modules with a Fryette LX-II for power and...
I have had great luck with Hipshot locking tuners - they come with a mounting plate with tabs that prevent the tuners from rotating without drilling additional mounting holes in the headstock. They come staggered or all one height for use with or without additional string trees. Really nice...
“Elevate the capital gains tax to a staggering 44.6% for individuals with a taxable income exceeding $1 million annually and an investment income surpassing $400,000.00.”
Not me.
And keep in mind, with a ‘progressive’ tax system, the 44.6% does not apply to the first million in income - nor...
To me, this is what happens when the checkbook gets a necessary seat at the decision table.
I just cannot think of anyone better suited for this gig than Al Estrada - and Hell, Estrada actually played with David at the Rio residency - so its not like Al is a complete ‘unknown.’ He cops that...
This is the type of guitar sound that holds its own in a full band mix - live or recorded - with kick drum and bass guitar holding down the foundation.
Congratulations! One of the few new amps I really want to plug into one day!
But as far as the picture goes, it’s hard for me to take my eyes off the Birdseye in that Charvel neck to pay any attention to the amp!!!
This is a fun thread. Brings back a ton of great memories. When I started playing out, I couldn’t believe how bad the stage fright was. I loved loud / stage volume rehearsals. And I loved it when a handful of guys from other bands at the rehearsal space would pop in to listen. I was...
