Soldano SLO Pedal - Like the real thing?

The SLO pedal is great. Like Matt said, it’s very similar but a bit more aggressive and tighter than the real deal from what I remember. That’s how I would describe the Bogner Red pedal. I run it into my Ecstasy classic clean channel and it almost perfectly nails the tone, just tighter...

Couple amp demos I made - Mark IV and 2555x

Dale! How have you been, brother? My gear hasn’t changed much, just borrowing a couple amps on top of my usual stash. Still have the XTC classic and will get a video up soon. How’s the fam?

Tremoverb vs Line 6 Rectifier model - Video playthrough

Awesome video! They sound very similar when using preamp only to amp's fx return. Sounded great. That's how I was set up and I did feel that it had most of the "push". Maybe not 100% but that tube power section doing its thing gave it most of the feel of the amp. Biggest difference I...

Tremoverb vs Line 6 Rectifier model - Video playthrough

Thanks! Yeah, I agree. Sometimes I just play the POD into a Fryette Powerstation and cab and it sounds unbelievably and consistently good. For the price, that thing is great. Basically a small Helix. Most of the preamp models are very accurate.

Tremoverb vs Line 6 Rectifier model - Video playthrough

Thank you! The PRS is an older McCarty with original pickups. I struggled with them too.. I always find PRS pickups to be almost “plinky” sounding, too clear and brittle. Almost microphonic. I love the coil split sounds but I always fight with full humbucker tones. I was about to put an...

Tremoverb vs Line 6 Rectifier model - Video playthrough

Swapping between the Mesa preamp and the POD Go Recto preamp (4-Cable Method) It’s not identical, but crazy how similar they sound and feel.

Couple amp demos I made - Mark IV and 2555x

Thanks! I’d really like to spend more time with a III. I remember it being a little more angry and raw. More “forward” too if that makes sense. What needs to be done to fix your III?

Couple amp demos I made - Mark IV and 2555x

Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it. I’m currently making a short comparison of the Tremoverb and Line 6 Rectifier preamp model. Running a POD Go with the T-Verb (4-cable method) so I can swap between the real preamp and the model. It’s actually crazy how similar they are. Hoping...

Couple amp demos I made - Mark IV and 2555x

Much appreciated! I used a TC Ditto looper for that Tool section and also for some of the riffs, so I could dial the amp while the parts were playing. I didn’t do this for all of them, just certain parts where I wanted to tweak the eq during the video. I seem to be able to dial tones better...

    Having multiple amps/cabs/speakers?

For me it’s because I’m equally inspired by different sounds and feels. I love hearing greenbacks one day and something drastically different at other times. Love me a good Martin acoustic or clean Super Reverb as much as a tight metal amp or a fuzz pedal. I do get what you’re saying...

Couple amp demos I made - Mark IV and 2555x

Thank you! I have played the Jubilee and tremoverb together with a good ABY and they kill when combined. Glad you dig the Deftones clip

Couple amp demos I made - Mark IV and 2555x

Thank you. Yeah, the Tremoverb is mine and I’m borrowing the Mark. I had the same one, well, a long head IVB for over a decade so dialing it was just as I remembered. Loved that amp but something about the T-verb even with all its quirks and imperfections just makes me smile, like you said:)...

Couple amp demos I made - Mark IV and 2555x

I appreciate the feedback. I was really just trying to capture what I hear when I’m playing which I think I accomplished. I love those “in the room” tones because I get a sense of how the amp really sounds and breathes. I didn’t want to start making eq moves, using high pass filters, etc...

Couple amp demos I made - Mark IV and 2555x

Added in the first post! I don’t think I captured it quite as well but it’s still cool. Fun amp to play through

Couple amp demos I made - Mark IV and 2555x

I’d like to try a Splawn again. A buddy has one so maybe I can check it out. I remember liking the Nitro but I liked the Uber Rev Blue I played next to it a lot more. I’m currently borrowing that amp and it’s one of my all time favorites. I’d love to try the Snorkler too. I added my...

Couple amp demos I made - Mark IV and 2555x

Thanks Matt! I wouldn’t say I enjoy playing it more, it’s more like the fast response brings a lot out of me. Strap in and go! Haha. Also, thank you for the compliment! I guess I got the mics just right by chance. I did a Tremoverb demo too which turned out alright.

Couple amp demos I made - Mark IV and 2555x

I’ve always liked “in the room” playthroughs and iPhone clips so I tried making a higher quality version with a condenser mic picking up the room sound (amps into a Marshall 412 and Mesa 212) and also blended in an SM57 for some focus and clarity. I was happy with how they turned out so I...

    Motor City Pickups Afwayu

My favorite pickup ever is the 2nd degree black belt in my Les Paul. Been rocking that for many years now. I’ve been wanting another for my PRS McCarty but have considered the Afwayu too.. how much hotter is the Afwayu? Is it voiced much differently? I think I heard a good comparison on...

The Dual Recto RI is the best Recto to date. A hill I'm ready to die on.

I think that’s what I like about it. But mine does get pretty bright if I set Orange to Modern. I had a 3-channel for a long time (pre-multiwatt) that was pretty bright but not in a pleasant way. I had Friedman mod it around 2010 or so. It was very cool but still wasn’t giving me quite...
