How does Diezel label the serial numbers. I would like to see what year mine was made.

VH4's (at least older ones) it was the first 2 digits. Otherwise they don't encode them. The amp's serial #'s are sequential. You have to post your serial # here and someone should be able to answer you.

You can also look on the board inside the head. they are labeled what version and most of them have a hand written year on them.

Diezel's do rule the world. Fact.

There should be a sticky here just like on the Ernie Ball Music Man forum http://forums.ernieball.com/music-man-g ... uitar.html) for looking up serial numbers. I think it will be a helpful thread.

Cool thanks

I know this is off topic but I just got my Einstein and I wanted to bias it. Do I have to remove the tube fuses when I bias it?

It depends how you bias. If you use the bias plugs
on the chassis there is a description on the back plate ;)

That's what I did and I got no measurement. I have my fluke meter on mV. I started on the outer fuse and bias terminals and got no reading. I noticed that the inner fuse when I checked it was blown, cause I tried it there too. What am i doing wrong? I'm certainly not a noob at biasing just at biasing Diezels
.

I'll check the MM fuse as well. I'll get new ones today and rebias using mA.

Thanks Peter.

Got it biased up and wow! does it sound good  . Just fine tuning now and swapping pre tubes. Just curious i got my Einstein used and I noticed when I removed the chassis from the headshell that the chassis is bent, although evenly, on the rear cage nuts. Is this normal? The amp works fine and the rest of is cosmetically is mint.

The date's probably written on the chassis or the board. That's how it's been on both my VH4s.

With Herbert it's clearly written on the back of the chassis above the mains power input.

Actually I'm just taking the piss... The V is a monster, but I'm still lovin' my Hagen. Still have a VH4S in da hizzy, and as mentioned before, my M.O. (no pun intended here) is to assist Peter with his early retirement and get all the high end Diezels under my roof. Expensive tastes, but hey, I really love em - and this INCLUDES the Herbert too. Hands down, it may be my next big buy from Diezel HQ. You heard it right here from the horse's mouth
