Midi Mate Problems with my Herbert..

Hi I have a Herbert and Bought the Midi Mate to switch between the channels but Im having absolutely no luck with getting this footpedal to work for me...HELP!!!!!
I tried it all (I think)...lol
Can someone help a MIDI impaired musician..
