Can I use my D-Moll as a preamp in standby mode?

My EVH 5150III can be used in standby mode, without being connected to a speaker. You can run the FX loop send or line output into a soundcard and then through some impulses. Works well for late night recording.

Can I do the same with the D-Moll, or does it 100% need to be connected to a speaker??
