VH4 midi issue

Hi, I have a issue regarding my midi switching. Whenever I turn my VH4 from on from standby, I get the first three light illuminated. This doesn't always happen but when it does I get very low volume. Just recently the problem has been more often. I have also been having the volume cut completely out for a few seconds to a min. My VH4 is a 2007 model and I have heard then older amps have midi chip issues. What is it

Does this happen without the midi controller plugged in?

It happens with and without. Also if I channel switch on the head not midi controller while on standby it will do it. The controller that I do have is the Columbus.
