Hi guys! I hope someone of you can help me with my problem. My Herbert makes a strange noise on specific frequencies, on every channels.

Here's a video in which you can hear the issue...Hope i can solve this problem.

I bought it used about 2 years ago, and i've never changed power tubes and preamp tubes as well. (and i don't know when the previous owner changed them...)

But i'm not sure it is a tubes issue. Can you tell me?

Thanks guys!!!

Yes, replace the the tubes. You could try finding the broken one(s) and replace it. I would recommend replacing them all if money is not a concern.

you think it is a power amp or preamp tube? Anyways, i'll change all them and hope it will solve the problem....What poweramp tubes do you recommend for the herbert? I have 4EL34 + 2 6550 now, but I don't like them so much...I want more definition on the bass, and more a "chunky" sound on the palm mutings. Thanks dude

6 new KT77's for power and Ruby 12ax7's for the pre, using the HG+ 678 Diezel select for V1 and V2.

I´m doing the Diezel support and got an email with this video.
Please check your emails please.

Yes, i just read it! Thank you. I checked my power tubes, and it seems like the 1st and 6th 6550 were microphonic.

I took them out, and i put the original EL34 in. The only thing i don't understand, is about my multimetere and its milliamps misuration.

This is what i get from it:

Ok i found an other multimeter, much better! I set it at 200m (DC Amperes)

And it seems to work!! I regulated the three couples at about 65 mA.

I just tried to play with it for a half an hour, and the problem of crackling has totally disappeared.

All ok then?

Some of the new KT77-JJ are crackling on my cook table.
It may disappear after a while.

Btw, I have 235 volt main voltage. So I set the bias to 75mA
each pair to be on the safe side. New tubes will loose a bit
current after a while.
