Or how it affects any amp? Does it have any special characteristics compared to a standard 12ax7?

I don't even know what kind of tube that is. The NOS Mullards cost 100 dollars or more.

It's the mullard cv4004 (12ax7) reissue made by new sensor.

Quote from Peter in this thread from January 2017.

Peter,
What is the reason for switching?
Do you purely like the tone of the reissue mullard cv4004 in V1 ,
Or is it the low noise and low microphonics?

Thanks

I got a new Hagen from Peter last month, from what i can hear the new Hagen has a little less gain and compression and a little more headroom and more open dynamic sound. The difference is not a big one but still audible. However i don't know if it has to do with the tube itself of with the fact that my old Hagen had slightly different circuitry than the new one, from the photos i made of the old one and compared to the new, the pots have more leads to the circuitboard. In my opinion the changes are good and i love my Hagen to death.

Cheers, Grigoriy
