EDIT: Seems like more knowledgeable people have chimed in, have always been told it's safe to run an amp in Standby without a load and in some amps, the pre-amp is still active in this condition. :confused:
 
the answer is no unless you want a big surprise and a large door stop .
 
Tube amps always need some sort of load, whether a dummy load or a real one, otherwise in a matter of seconds you could possibly damage your setup.

Forgive my lack of knowledge :confused: :confused: :confused: since I never used a slave out, what exactly does it do? It's not in the manual.
