Got my Weber Legacies (65W, 75 hz, 35oz mags) a couple days ago and finally got to crank em tonight! They sound amazing with my Mark IV!
The thing that surprised me was that they don't sound that different than my V30s...
But they are much more pleasing and balanced. To my ears, they sound like a mix of a GB and a well broken-in V30. Sometimes when I play my 212 with the V30s (with the cab on the floor) and I stand close to the cab but off to the side, I find a sort of "sweet spot" in the room where the nasty upper-mid/treble spike goes away and it sounds very punchy and rich and almost smooth.
Well, that's what these Webers sound like with the speaker pointed right at my face!!!
Before I replaced both V30s, I tried a Legacy/V30 mix and it sounded very good! Really, not much different, just a bit more balanced and rich. The Vs just have that brash high frequency spike that is love/hate for me depending on my mood and the amp I'm using, etc.... These Webers seem like they will be mostly a Love affair and no hate.
My ONLY complaint is that the low end is lacking just a bit (about the same as the V30), but that's a minor complaint. I'd love to hear a 412 full of these!
