Any of the Big Dogs or hobbyists out there have any intentions on holding an amp building seminar this year? I hear about them around here now and again and would truly appreciate the opportunity to commit to learning something new and building a playable amplifier with my own hands. If you have the time, I'll have the cash in short order :)

I'm sure there are plenty of us here that would be more than willing to jump on such an opportunity. How 'bout it, fellas?

The seminars are great fun and a wonderful learning experience. We don't have any planned for any time soon. In fact, the planning is usually a bit spontaneous. It is just a matter of when we have time. Terri and I have discussed late August or September as possibles.
We will announce here. Thanks

As long as I've looked forward to this- After all the anticipation, I might not be able to make it.

I think I'ma be sick.. :aww:

Man, it's about a 3 hr drive for me and I'd love to go but just can't muster up the funds.

Man, I planned to fly ANYWHERE in the US to be there- Shot down.

Get the Merlin Blencowe books if you haven't already. They talk about construction techniques as well as the technical content. It's very well written.

Hey, appreciate that!

Got a book in PDF format from a fellow RT guy called The Art of Electronics. (Thanks again, Luke!) Been keeping me busy- and interested. But I'll admit, I get lost in what he's trying to convey when it comes to certain formulas n' what not. Kinda speaks as if I should already know what he's talking about. I probably should. Feels like he's not just trying to let you know how smart he is and take it easy on my lil brain, but I still fall short.

The Merlin books are written so well its not even funny. It's written for the non EE. Still equations and all you should try to understand them, however you will get the point of the chapter even if you can't figure out the math.

The "designing tube preamps for guitar and bass" is the one I would get first.

Is the class full now?

Oh, I'm not sure. I just have to bow out due to circumstances on my end.

Too bad there is not one local around here..... I would be into it. I do not have the time or money to take a vacation to do this. It would be killer if Mike Soldano or Andy Marshall did a seminar.....
