Marshall 1912: What gives?

I have a JCM 900 4101 I've been wanting to sit atop a 1x12 for a while, been looking for Marshall 1912's on the used market with no success.

Having recently purchased considerably (I mean considerably) better Bogner and Splawn 1x12 cabs, I cannot figure how they're going for $599 new.

I'm one of those nerds who wants my amp head and cab widths to match and prefer matching makers, as well.

That said; if a 1912 isn't an option, I'm wondering if anyone here has any same size, similar spec's recommendations?

The last two 1912's I had came from GC used inventories from across the country. Both were a little beat, but looked great from 10ft. away.

Side note: if you think used 1912's are hard to find, try locating a 6912 (blue 30th Anniv. 1x12 that matches the 30th combo). Unicorn cab.

Marshall built a 1933 1x12 cab, too. A bit bigger than the 1912. Best 1x12 can I've played was a Friedman. I'm no Friedman fan boy, but that cab was impressive.

I have 2 1x12 Cameron/Friedman with EV 300 BLS speakers. All I can say is Awesome

Size of this is really close to a working fit with my 4101 and looks good, however, the 4101 is a 100 watt amp (does have a low/half output switch), while the Friedman cab is 65w. 4101 also needs an 8 ohm external load.

Have to believe this cab is built really well, too.

I see Sweetwater lists the 1912 made with Birch Plywood, however, have seen several sites saying they're MDF. Anyone know?

I have a 80's 1912 cab and they are hard to find sounds great too has a ported baffle, the stock speaker is useless but with the right speaker its awesome, I actually have a 1922 2x12 which is my fav Marshall cab Ive played its smaller then the 1936 and imo sounds tighter and better, the 1912 I have is from the 80's and its ply, I would definatley verify its not mdf before getting new, mdf cabs sound like absolute shit from my experience...

I always thought the first 1912's came out in 1990 as the matching cab to the 4501 & 4101 combos.

If it's an 80s cab with a ported baffle, it might actually be a 1933, which was made to match the 4010 and 4210 1x12 combos.

Get this and slap a Marshall badge on it. I guarantee it will be made better than the Marshall at half the price :D

I think they are the same cabs I have   I will have to check

I'm pretty sure Mojotone used to build speaker cabs for a lot of boutique amps builders. Not sure if they still do or not. Either way, I love their cabs.

Nice. Thanks.

Going to Mojotone has a cabinet around $250, therefore, it's hard to justify anything more than that when one knows the Mojotone stuff is just going to be extremely well made. A speaker and one is under $400 brand new. The way cabs are priced on the typical market is just stupid these days. 1x12's for the cost of 2x12's, 2x12's costing what 4x12's should, 4x12's costing equivalent to killer amps...just stupid.
