 I've always wanted to get one of these and you basically sold me! Sounds nice and tight! What speakers did you run this with?

Whitebox modern 2x12 w/ G12K-100s.

I had an EVH 4x12 but it had an issue and had to go back :( The new replacement EVH is in route, and I should have it by Thursday and am anxious to hear the ARES through that cab. I'll post another clip with the amp through it when it arrives.

I've only tried mine with V30s and G12M-25s and it sounds great through either. I've tried my Gemini through G12H-75 Creambacks and I really like it. So I'd imagine the Ares would get along well with Creambacks too.

I'll find out next week how it sounds through the Heritage Greenbacks

Sounds great through the G12K-100s, but like everything I've played through those speakers so far, a tad stiff!

The Heritage are 20 watts right?

From what I've read they are intentionally under-rated to be the same number as the old pre-Rolas. They are actually 25W. The G12EVH is the same speaker but priced lower.

Let us know if you do a good low/mid gain clip too - can't find much on that

No sir. The Heritage are 25w but labeled 20w for historical accuracy; all according to responses right from a Celestion rep that frequents The Gear Page. I've seen his numerous responses over the years to this question, and he confirmed they're 25w.

I haven't even really messed with the amp for low/mid gain tones honestly. I'll see what I can put together. I don't see it doing anything near the realm of convincing classic rock (60s 70s) if that's what you mean by low/ mid gain. But I did mess with the blue crunch ch briefly which is the amps lower gain mode, and the little I messed with it playing my BKP Rebel Yell loaded LP, it seemed like it would do hair metal and early VH stuff. I don't play that stuff so.....

I havne't tried 'em. How do they sound compared to the regular Chinese G12M-25s (which I really like)?

I play mine through a Suhr Reactive Load going into my AxeFx2 (only for the Cab IR's) and then into a Mission Engineering Gemini 2. I've tried it with a ton of cab/speaker/mic IR's and they all sound pretty good, changes the character and different, but still pretty good. I pretty much leave it on a blend I created of Diezel 4x12 K100's/ Diezel 4x12 V30's/ 2x12 Zilla Creambacks. That is the sound captured here starting at the 30sec mark with just the GoPro camera:

Got my replacement EVH 412 the other day and did a quick clip of the Ares through it. I like the amp through this cab a lot :D Records completely different than my 2x12 so excuse the overwhelming bass and shitty recording quality. Need to get mic position and input gain figured out

Its a bad attempt at some Slayer; haven't really played this stuff in years :aww:

I don't think this qualifies as good, but here's a quick and dirty mid gain clip of some noodling around on the ARES crunch Ch yesterday. Its actually only the second time I've flipped that switch to take it into crunch mode, and I have to say its a REALLY juicy, WONDERFULLY saggy, EXTREMELY fun feeling channel to play on.

Definitely gonna have to spend more time here. In terms of gain, it picks up where my Germino Club 40 leaves off. I'll admit I had the gain quite high just because it felt so good to play on :D

I agree for the most part, but in defense of this and all the clips I put up, they are about as raw and un-fiddled with as it gets. That's mostly because I have no clue what i'm doing and use archaic gear. All my recordings are off a simple H2N zoom sitting on top off an empty tissue box in the lower corner of my cab   Then I just upload them straight to soundcloud unedited.

-I used up all my CELL-DATA- on porn,.. AGAIN!!!..
so i wasnt able to catch your clip, I try not to watch any clips, but I fail at that as well.
