Are You Human - WTF?

Why does everyone's details now have a line that says: "Are you human?: 951"

The back-end of this website has been "iffy" for at least a couple of years. The owners clearly don't give a shit and are just trying to do as little as possible to keep it running so they can grab the ad revenue. It sure would be nice if someone that was actually interested in guitars and amps had a hand in the day-to-day...

To verify you're not a bot the site asks you to choose the third number in a sequence of numbers. The third number in the sequence is 951. It has been like this for a while and I pm'd psycom about it a week ago or so.

But it is not in everyone's avatar, just most.

Understood, but it shouldn't be in anyone's. Something changed with the site configuration - and no one is paying any attention. It's like having step parents that don't care about you :aww:

This isn't a terribly exciting post. Sure, I'll give you that. But, mismanaging back-end systems is like opening the door to a "data breach". The fact that a data object that shouldn't even be visible appears with the members information shows that no one is paying attention. Is your credit card info at risk? Probably not. But given the lack of attention to detail, it's not a big stretch to think that private messages with personal user details could be. If the group/people running the show don't look close enough to even see the "Are You Human" text, how confident are you that they are actively managing the back end to protect any other data that you submitted or posted? I just figured that it might be useful to point that out.

Apparently not. Sorry to waste your time. Carry on...

I gotta be honest. I have NO IDEA what this thread is about
look at my user details - then look at yours. See the difference?

I can see why this would be of concern. Sounds like someone is definitely asleep at the wheel. Good looking out.

All these changes are made out of any mods hands.
Done by the big boys in France that own the board.
That’s all I got on this.
Yes I’m asked if I’m human as well.
Never thought it was a big deal.
Especially since I’m a virus that just circulates around porn sites.
Rig talk is my side gig.

Understood - the point is that I was asked that question when I joined a long time ago. It only recently started showing on the page, hence the statement that something changed and no one is paying attention.

I had to open a new email cause I could not log in for the last 2 years.
I just looked and read but could not log in because I never got a response with my regular email and when I tried to open a new account I could not use my regular email either.

So 2-3 years later, here we are.
