Celestion EVH Greenbacks

I don't hear how they are that tight. Maybe try the Creambacks or Lynchbacks if you want to cover high gain hard rock. I have actually come to like the Heritage and EVH Greenbacks and may end up with them in my 412 for one more stab at trying to find a 412 speaker set that works for me.
They are super tight and thick. It just depends on what amp you pair them with. For instance, they are awesome with 5150's, high gain Marshalls, ect.. But not so good with Dual Recto's. But paired with the right amp, they work REALLY well for hard rock/metal. Here's a few more clips:

I keep reading online the heritage G12M and the G12EVH ones are identical speakers.. Why does celestion's website show the frequency responses identical between the ReIssue G12M and the G12EVH then??

The green line is Heritage, the Red is the EVH. They definitely have different upper-mid and high end characteristics according to this.

And here's the Chinese GB and EVH stacked. They are identical.

So the EVHs are identical to the Chinese GBs?

I picked up an empty Marshall 412 and want this cab to have standard Greenbacks.

It seems most people like the Heritage and EVH Greenbacks best.

My band plays 90s rock, hard rock and grunge so they should work well for me.
I already have two G12M speakers, so I want to mix in two Heritage/EVH.

Makes me wonder if the evh greenbacks are just made in uk versions of the Chinese g12ms.

They are the same. Save your money. The Chinese GB 25wt RI's do not sound the same as the Heritage/EVH Greenbacks. I have samplings of each of them.
Those frequency curves tell only a part of the story. They can have the same curves but other components that go into making them make them not sound the same.

I agree!

Well EVH used basically an 80 watt Greenback cab. So his RIs are based on that. Which is just a rehash of what was available back in the. What I am curious about is whether there is any truth to his speakers being actually 25 watters vs the advertised 20, and whether these are just just repackaged Heritage. That would blow my opinion of EVH if it was proven to me a scam.
