Are flamed or birdseye maple necks stable over long periods of time?

Not in my experience. Flame is worse. I had two go unstable and will never buy another unless it is Roasted. I had a Roasted BE and it was fine.yngzaklynch":js4c3gel said:

With that said I just got a Suhr with a Roasted 3a birdseye maple neck and board and it is downright flat out awesome.

Have owned guit w/a birdseye maple neck with a rosewood fb since 95 and it's never given me any trouble to speak of. It has a pretty thick slab of rosewood on it, don't know if that has helped with stability or not. No clear coat on it either.

I have a 3 piece suhr with birdseye. Its 12 years old and its completely straight. Love it.

Yes you can get lucky. With Roasted or torefied though it is guaranteed
