Can Someone ID these mods done to a 20th 101b?

I can't believe the hack-job done by somebody to this amp which I bought used under the assumption it was never modded.

Apparently these are mods done by Bogner factory to the XTC pcb to put the 20th to spec. Looks very sloppy to be to be from factory however.

Yeah,all looks like 'factory-default'.
I was somewhat disappointed when first viewing gut-shots of the UltimateXTC.....

Still,it sounds great, but just leaves a (slightly) sour taste.

PS anyone, on the CircuitBoard,
What are those junction-strip-block things @ 'R36' & 'BOOST CLE'?
Regards,DavidC.

Look like relays mounted upside down.

Ta for that
I thought initially it was something 'cheap' to connect wiring;
so not everything has been DIY 'slung-together'. ;-)

ps,Bogner XTC 20th is one amp I plugged into & immediately gelled with.
So I'm not knocking 'em .Just (some) of the manufacture.

To me it doesn't look bad except for a couple very poorly done joints, and excessive solder on others. Piggybacking/stacking components is not uncommon and that's more or less how it has to be done. I have an amp modded by Dave Friedman himself and the result looks about like yours. Circuit modding a PCB will never look pretty no matter who is doing it, but as long as the joints are done right and safe, should be all good.

The way mine sounds I'm OK with it, don't really care how it looks since I rarely take it apart and as long as it lasts and is reliable

Here's an update on the 20th 101B. The amp developed a popping noise on the green channel, the red and blue channels are fine. The popping can be increased in volume using the volume knob, the gain however doesn't seem to affect the noise volume at all. The popping doesn't start right away, it usually takes about 4-5 min to start and once it starts it's sporadic but then over the course of a few min will start to increase in frequency until it pops about 2-3 times per second. It's NOT tube related. Here's link to Amp Garage of a thread I started over there with a vid of the amp on the bench of a local tech who's trying to sort it out. I have contacted Bogner several times and Charley and Jorg have been trying to help and have offered some suggestions so I'll keep trying to update the info here until it gets fixed. In the meantime if there are any builders here which I'm sure there are who could offer some troubleshooting advise it would be much appreciated. Thanks!

*Update*
I finally got all the quirks worked out of this amp...whew!
The quirks were:
1 - Popping on the clean channel...pop-pop-pop-pop. It was a bad ground connection around the standby switch.
2 - Noise that wasn't normal for an amp of this caliber. It was some bad caps throughout the tone stack, not the mustards though. They were replaced and the prob was fixed.
3 - Then the next prob was the most difficult to fix which was volume cutting out after about 10-15 mins and then it would be normal. It was a bad solder joint which was reflowed and fixed.

Amp sound GREAT now, thank God. But I was pulling my hair out about the probs.

Actually that sloppy soldering is something I have experienced on my Helios, too. While the components used are top notch I was not impressed with the soldering skills of the guys who assembled the amp, could have been a lemon easily. It is really a shame what so called boutique manufacturer charge for this quality. I guess the LA gang shares a lot of resources nowaday thus share a lot of the same issues....Glad you got your amp up and running again.
