Pardon my ignorance.... Is this made in USA or Japan? (I don't know much about ESP)

Is this a thin or thick profile neck?

Man I have no idea. I'll most likely have to defer to OUTLAW1969 or cnote.

Man can't believe this is still here. If it wasn't for the Floyd I'd be buying it back, and even then still tempted. It sounds amazing - this is a well made, well-designed, and remarkable sounding guitar.
 
I don't recall seeing any other guitars that early ('86) with a surface mounted lock nut...they had thru-neck bolts.
When did the surface mount type become "a thing"?
 
It was a thing back then - plenty of Jacksons (being the most common in the mid 80s) with surface mounted lock nuts.
