Wizard mc owners. How many use the loop for volume control?

The loop on my MCII looses some of the oomph and add some highs when engaged so I'm not a big fan of switching it on and off.
 
I used to do this on my Metal and one of my Modern Classics that had loops with send/receive levels on them. It essentially works as a master volume, and I don't remember it changing the tone any more than turning down the master volume on any other high gain amp.

It sounded a lot better than the THD hotplate I used on my Modern Classic without a loop.
