Is it possible to use a tube screamer(for a boost of the distortion) and or noise gate vst on a guitar channel that is utilizing an analog guitar preamp? I'm using an engl e530-- am planning on using the wall of sound 3 sims with it as well. Man, i hope i described that sensibley, HA

you would like to do, for example:
Guitar -> DI input soundcard -> VST FX (pedal or whatever) -> Soundcard Line output -> Analog Guitar Preamp -> Soundcard Line intput -> WoS III on another track
Right?
It's possible, but you may run into some issues with unbalanced connections (guitar, preamp in and out). Because having some unbalanced cables running with a lot of gain in your VST pedal ill increase the noise level, maybe too much.
If you're good with routing your I/OS on he soundcard that is worth a try.
