Recording with Torpedo Live vs DAW cabinet IR

Can someone tell me how you record with the Torpedo live... is it also capturing your power amp characteristics? From what I understand it is a load box as well, so would you go from the speaker out on your amp to the Torpedo?

I currently record from the FX Send of my Marshall JVM JS amp into my computer DAW, and use an IR loaded in Apple Logic. It sounds ok, but a little on the muffled side (and it doesn't matter which IR I use).

I have a Kemper, and while it is amazing and sounds as close as you can get to a mic'd amp, especially for rhythm sounds, I find that leads just don't have the same feel, and I think this is where the tubes come in. Even with my normal solution of just using the Marshall preamp section into the DAW IR, I was getting a more pleasing feeling with the lead tone as opposed to the Kemper.

So what I want to know is, does the Torpedo unit bridge that gap for me and get me a better sound because it is connected from the power amp rather than just the preamp out?
