I'm using an Maxon OD9 boosting an AMT R2 preamp pedal into Torpedo CAB (class A/B, 6L6, presence and depth 50%, Brit VintC, Knightfall mic in center). Without the EQ the sound is muffled and dark, with the EQ is too shrill ( my settings are: 120 -4, 360 -3, 800 0, 2K +2, 6K +2). What are your settings for a metal sound and how do you suggest to solve the probem ? Thanks !

Hi vicknott,
first of all:
switch off the EQ and Power amp sim, and find a microphone, a cabinet and a microphone position that is good and does not sound muffled. Of course you can play with the R2 parameters, too.
Then, switch on the power amp, set presence and depth at 100%. Other values will reduce the bandwidth of the preamp signal.
Then, and only then, you can start with the EQ, but you shouldn't have to set extreme EQ values to find what you are searching for.
