Reload On Order-cable qs as attenuator

I just ordered a reload to use mostly as an attenuator for an early 60s bassman. My plan is to use the the reload just as an attenuator initially. Do I use speaker cab cables for both the head into the reload and the reload into my 2x12 Marshall cab?
