Bogner pedals + Torpedo

I've seen a couple of videos on YT, but I would like to know more about this combo. Anyone using it ? Clips ? Especially with Uberschall pedal.

i'm pretty sure there are a bunch of C.A.B. users who have a Bogner Blue, Red or whatever on their pedalboard, but we don't have them at the office, I don't really know why BTW...

Hi there,

I own the Bogner Uberschall and the Ecstasy pedals, both great units (event though i strongly prefer the Ecstasy, even for metal tones).

First things first, you have to notice one important thing, these pedals are not preamps. you need to run it in front of a preamp to get the sound they are meant for. I my case, i found that preamps that works best with these are the fender-ish ones.

I made several video clips with theses amazing pedals :

Bogner Uberschall + Torpedo Live

First contact with the Uberschall directly hooked to the Torpedo

First contact with the Ecstasy pedal (+ torpedo WOS)

a french rock song covered with my Les Paul and the Ecstasy and torpedo :

And the evidence that the Ecstasy is suitable for metal :

Thanks, VTM ! The riffs in the first clip are awesome ! Did you experienced such a big difference between going direct to Torpedo and adding the AMT preamp ?

When I ran the ubershall pedal directly into the Torpedo, i found the sound to lack a bit of brilliance, its a bit muddy. It is due to the pedal nature (remember, bogner pedals are distortion pedals, not preamps). the clean channel preamp between the pedal and the torpedo helps to get things more articulate.

Alternatively, you can run them direct into the Torpedo, and push high frequencies with poweramp sim and post EQ settings in the Live/CAB/WoS unit. This works well too.

Another clip that may interest you, as it shows how the Ubershall Pedal + torpedo C.A.B. compares to the "real thing", the Uberschall Amp + Torpedo Live :

The guitar panned 100% Left is Bogner Uberschall Amp + Torpedo Live

The guitar panned 100% Right is my setup that includes the Bogner Uberschall Pedal + Clean Preamp + Torpedo C.A.B.

Both are going through the Brit VintC Cab IR in the torpedo.
Pretty close, right?

you can hear the Blue and Red in my preamp fredamp crystal based on a fender twin , the blue and red at 4,03

What kind of clean preamp do you use?

I think it is the AMT.
