Trying new cabs, missing details

Hi,

I'm looking through the virtual cabinet library and thinking about trying some new flavors for my VB101's. I notice though that some of the descriptions don't mention the speaker or other important details.

I'm guessing this is an Eminence?

And what was in these originally? Utahs? JBLs?

Likewise:

Is there a more detailed spreadsheet perhaps? If not, I might try and put one together.

Anyhow, that aside I just wanted to see if people have recommendations for their favorite Greenback and Vintage 30 cabs? I recently picked up a Fender Tonemaster and I'm keen to dial it in with V30's but there are lots of different V30 cabs to choose from (which is a good thing!).

Thanks,
Nick

This is something we're talking about. Ideally there would be a possibility to search the cabinet database by not only cabinet type or Capture Master but also by microphone, speaker, recommended musical genre etc.

I don't know the answer for the 3 cabs you link but I'd be happy to provide details on anything we've done

That type of search sounds perfect. I'd line up all of the Vintage 30 cabs and then start working through them and comparing.

I think a comments box/review in addition to the star rating would be really useful to, perhaps with options for the reviewer to put in the gear used and the genre.

Actually the search engine in torpedo remote is able to search any term in the cabinets description. So if you want the V30, seach for V30.

And you can type "rock" but you have to hope that the Capture Master has written a description including that term. So nothing really evolved here to be honest, but it works for the most part.

Regarding missing info, sometimes we simply don't have it, because it's a closed back and we decided not to destroy the tolex (especially for vintage cabinets.

And the manufacturers themselves, in the 60 or 70s, weren't too much communicating about the speaker model. So it's not that easy sometimes to get that information.

But thank you for the suggestions, we need to have your input to improve the products !
