It seems that the normal "bypass" mode of the Le Preamp is mute, no signal passes from input to output (just to through). So unless you put the LePreamp in a separate loop controller, you entire rig is muted if the LePreamp is in bypass (or unless that's an issue unique to mine).
The manual (fig 4) shows multiple Le Preamps linked by midi but also by running the output of the "first" Le Preamp 1 into the input of the "second" Le Preamp. Triggering one of the channels on the 2d preamp will cause the 1st to "bypass" with the input signal (but not the loop) going through the output. The text states that the extra 2 pins of the MIDI cable are being used to for the "multi channel mode." Likewise, when one of the channels on the first LePreamp is active, the signal goes through the 2d LePreamp, even though it's in bypass mode.
So how does the pedal suddenly turn the output jack into a limited through jack that gets the original signal but not the loop? or is the MIDI cable actually passing the guitar (and any pre-1st pedal) effects to the 2d pedal? Or is there some special MIDI code that changes the bypass function so that it's through?
If there's a mode in which this could be turned on for pedals other than the LePreamp models, it might make the pedal more flexible for folks who use multiple pre-amp level pedals.
