Broken tube

I had the center of an EL-34 come off in the amp. The tube is bad and not glowing at all. An idea's on how to get the black plastic center out of the tube socket ? Thanks

Pair of tweezers or a real small screwdriver to gently wiggle it out.
If the socket is not mounted on a circuit board it will (should)push through.
Pull the amp out of the headshell and remove that broken center .

Ever seen this happen? I was swapping out preamp tubes for fun a few years back, and the glass broke just as clean as could be right at the bottom of the rubber sleeve.

If it wer mine id grab some needle nose or pliers and grab that shit and pull straight up.

Be sure to use INSULATED pliers or you could get a 450 DC volt sandwich.

Then id pull the chassis and clean out all the debris.

BTW an EL-34 is a Pentode Power tube.

In your pic thats a 12AX7 Preamp tube.
