ENGL Savage 120 Volume drop when going from Rough to Smooth?

ENGL Savage 120 Volume drop when going from Rough to Smooth? I am about to send this back to musicians friend. I traded this for a Blackmore which had the same kind of switch with no change in volume. I guess I got a bad one? Does anyone here know anything about this issue?
I can not find a Engl rep here in the U.S.A

Yeah the volume dropped when it went smooth enough to point to something being wrong. I had the Blackmore a week or so ago and it had same feature but no change in volume. I sent it back.

IIRC There shouldn't be a hugely noticeable volume drop. Maybe tube related, but doubtful.

Also as far as MF goes, get ready for a 2-3 week wait for them to refund you. I returned something recently and that's how long it took for them to around to just "checking in the item"... Let alone refunding me. They need to hire some more help there.
