This looks great! I love that it has two footswitchable settings. Looks similiar in cosmetics to the phantom but with a Friedman touch. I am interested depending on price. Anyone try it or have clips???

Great looking attenuator and the two channel setting is great.

Best name for an attenuator ever. It's poignant!

Ill post more pics and features after NAMM. Dave and I are really excited about it.

as for price, we havent figured it out quite yet. that one in the picture is the only one, so ill start getting quotes from vendors next week. I would like to have these babies ready for shipping by the end of February.

Ill get Pete Thorn to do a video in the mean time.

What are the "Hi/Lo" knobs on each side for?
I own a similar footswitchable volumes attenuator by Ho (same as Ultimate). Would you be able to enlighten me on any significant differences performance-wise that the STFU would offer?

Looking for the spring. Will post up here as soon as we have a firmer date. I messed with it a few weeks ago and it was very cool. Sounded like nothing. If I was guessing (and I am not guessing) I would think Tim (Faustine) might of had a hand in designing this... ;)

I have one more question for Dave. Dave, Dave here you know me Phoenix Dave/SS, ect. It states 100W on the back panel as you well know a healthy Marshall, I have a basically stock 1959HW puts out close to 140 watts. I'm sure you have engineered it as the 100W stated means an amp rated at 100W is the max. Am I right?
Thanks great stuff.
Dave

What does the "hi/lo" switch do? Is it some sort of treble boost or a level of attenuation?

I am very interested in this. Can't commit to a waiting list just yet, just hope it is under the $1K that was floating around.
True it has many features and flexibility and if it has Friedman on it I am assured it produces great tone!!
Planning my next rig around this attenuator vrs master volumes ect.

Thanks Dave.

I noticed that it has 2 channels, now I know they are foot switchable, cool feature.

Does the unit have a variable way to dial down attenuation at lower levels?

Also, can you briefly explain the push/pull knob for the line output? When do you pull and when do you push?

Thanks, this looks like an awesome unit!!

If you don't want to wait, you can check out the new Aracom attenuator that has been out for almost a year. It has foot switching where you can adjust the levels for lead and rhythm. It has DI out with a filter switch and it has a knob to control the brightness, which sounds very natural. I've been using it in my studio for a year and it sounds great! I've done tons of recordings with it with no issues. It's Very realiable and built like a tank!
I'm sure Dave's is going to be a killer attenuator, but I'm sure that the Aracom will be just as good.Dave and Jeff are both genius!

I'd have a good listen to the attenuator before laying cash down. The last one I used was the Weber, it changed the tone of every amp I used it on. Even when it was switched in with no attenuation it rolled bass off. I tried it with my eighteen watt Marshall and it sounded very two dimensional. Needless to say I've ruled attenuators out as an option.

Hopefully Dave Friedman's one will succeed where others have failed.

Mark
