I've been dealing with health problems myself. Had foot surgery a year ago and it's taken a year to get back on my feet (pun intended). Ended up getting a bad infection recently, had to have a piece of my toenail removed to drain everything.

On top of this, I'm supposed to get my wisdom teeth pulled sometime this summer. Been wanting to do it for a long time, but was never able to during school because I couldn't miss any days of studying/assignments/projects and I went to school year around.

In gear related news, I scored a broken PCM81 that's NOS. Still had the screen protector on the screen and the original owners manual. I managed to find a service manual and schematics for it. Will be repairing it in the upcoming days. If I can get it working, I'll be posting a NGD.

Also scored a killer ADA 2FX. Although the lexicon can do chorus effects better and is MIDI, the ADA 2FX is essentially the chorus I've always been looking for but could never find. Doug actually recommended I get one many years ago when I mentioned I liked my MP1's chorus. I'll be working to restore this guy as well - it will need some TLC. It's in great cosmetic condition, but needs me to go through it.

More electronics projects at once that I normally don't like to take on, but it will be great if I can get both of these up and running in tip-top shape.

I see DOD and DigiTech is done in at the end of June. Shame as DOD has done some cool stuff in the last few years.

I liked that the 81 had chorus and reverb features both. It's based upon the 224 model where the PCM70 is based on the model 200. I actually like the sound of the 81 over the 80. I like the sound of the PCM70, but you have to watch what version you get and the prices have skyrocketed lately.

I don't really use effects much. Pretty much all I find I actually use is a wa and phase.

I was really into fuzz for years. Last few years I've been into overdrive and boost.

Only effect that really caught my ear recently is the REVV G3.

The ones I use is the HBE Plank Cranker and Fulltone Fulldrive 3. Probably pick up a OCD and a Fulldrive 2 V2 when it comes out.

I think about redoing my rack.... But I never get around to it. It's been in storage since last year.

Wish I was there.
Those Eminence speakers are copies of the Fane speakers Lynch had in his favorite Hiwatt cabs. I would be into checking them out.

I've been using Celestion so long.. time to try some others again.

I have a pair if EV12L I need to get a cabinet for. 2x12 or pair of 1x12.

I've gotten the itch to play again. It's been 4 years easily prior to this year since I last played. Back into it full swing, and going to start learning songs once I have gear and a place to practice.

I cannot do cars right now - no place to work on them and you can forget about loud ass cammed V8 anything up here in MD that isn't a trailer queen that lives at the race track.

I go on waves of playing. Pretty much just play doodle nonsense. Working on a acoustic project with a friend. I'll probably be playing some 6 and 12 string guitar, slide, mandolin, piano and percussion. Probably going to be some brass on some of it. I like horns.

Me and my drummer jammed last nite.
First time in several months.
And when we did prior it was only like half hour.
So we laid out like 3 solid tunes.
And they were GREAT!! Sorta recharged the battery.
Then we came in the house listened to music in the kitchen ...
Drinking. Laughing. It was a much needed nite.

My drummer moved to Houston. Talked with him Friday. Looks like he might be there a decade.

Good to hear dude

G.f. had a T.i.a. stroke 2 christmas's ago during the middle of a conversation where she got quiet and forgot everything.
We didn't know it was a stroke until a couple days later when she getting a test for another health related issue and they spotted blood clots to the brain so she was rushed to the hospital because there was a high possibility of another stroke happening.
Pretty crazy to think it could happen to some one that is only 32 yrs old.

Doug that’s EXACTLY what happened to me!!
But they rushed me to the ER.
Said chances of the BIG BOY happening to me was super slim. This was after a heart ultrasound
2 Catscans. 2 MRI .... injected with dye..
3 days later I was released.

Stroke and cancer are very common on both sides of my family. I've been very lucky so far.

Damn guys that's scary. Not to mention Doug your gf and I are close to the same age. The idea of a stroke is scary.

How are you liking the atsv? How did you get it to 600 when they come with 400~? Who did the tune on it and did it void the factory warranty? I've been looking to get either a used atsv for a lexus is350 f sport. Between the two, I like the lexus more for it's warranty and value retention, but the atsv would be way more fun to drive (mag ride, manual, etc)

I still have the BBC 454 back in NC. I didn't bother bringing it up to MD. A part of me wants to build a nasty 468bbc and stick it in my s10.

stephen sawall wrote:

Honestly, I've been considering getting splawn to make two matching 4x12's that look like 1960b marshall cabinets, and loading them with 5150 Sheffields on my own.

I've also contemplated getting a mojotone or CAA 2x12 and loading that with some vintage 30's.

The other splawn cabinets I ran had an X pattern of splawn small blocks and V30s. It was a great combo, but it had an odd clear topend that I didn't really like. Seemed like the cabinet was stupid high headroom - you needed to really push it hard to get it to give up the goods. I'm honestly not sure I ever got that speaker combo loud enough to do it any justice.

The alpha chassis is the best chassis out now IMO, After 2 years it is still a great car,
464hp 445ft lbs a tune adds another 111 ft lbs, add couple bolt on's and you are there.
A Buddy of mine tunes anything Gm.
Gm is discontinuing the ATS sedans in July and willl only be building coupes until the next model replacement comes out in a couple years so I think the V's value might hold steady for a while.

Ann was so big it was just a matter of time till it had a problem. It had about 200,000 views and I forget how many post.

Funny thing is I have only started a few threads on all the internet and several of them went over 100,000 views.

This one is almost as big as Ann was....

Man Hilligan came over Friday night.
We jammed. Ended up trading him my Slo Clone for his Armegond
Both Amps sounding badass.
I think at this day and age. There really are no bad sounding Amps

I played on a Armageddon in Florida almost two years ago. I thought it sounded better than any of the amps in the room. Better than any of the Friedman, Soldano and a few others. The mid-range control is really cool. That built-in noise gate is useful.

You don't hear much about that amp. Surprised it's not more popular.

Ann was so big it was just a matter of time till it had a problem. It had about 200,000 views and I forget how many post.

Funny thing is I have only started a few threads on all the internet and several of them went over 100,000 views.

This one is almost as big as Ann was....

I don't remember if I ever posted in Ann, but I checked it out numerous times over the years in a zombie-like state (I work nights).

I'm pretty sure I was high on cocaine when I started Ann. I rarely drink and usually beer. Only drug I do is weed. It's legal here and I don't do that very often either.

I need a bigger place so I can get more 4x12 cabs.

My visits to Ann were 99% sober and while at work, just looking for something to keep me engaged at 4 a.m.

Anyone like Celestion G12T-75 ???

I have mixed feelings about them.

That was the whole reason we created Ann back in the day. We kept blowing up random threads with general chatter between a large group of us during the middle of the night.

Was never a fan of the egnater armaggedon. Personally I like the series 1 amps from blackstar. Always wanted to give them a try to see what they sound like in person.

Not a fan of 75's on their own, but I've heard mixed results running them with other speakers like the V30. I think they are amp dependent and have to be voiced to use them. Their topend can be overtly shrill and just outright ear piercing.

Agree the results from the T75 are very dependent on the amp and cab.
