so, i saw a video about this. i didn't know it happened. Dave Mustaine sold a bunch of gear on reverb including a bunch of USA Deans and prototypes. He listed them at very fair prices so his fans could afford them, i think the most expensive one was only a couple grand. so, one guy went on reverb right when they went live and somehow managed to buy all of them? I've read other people posting about how they tried to get one, and this guy managed to get every one of them? anyhow, he said he got them for his recording studio, Essex Recording Studio, and that Megadeth fans are welcome to com by and play them. he said they weren't to be resold but to be played. well, now he has marked them up INSANELY high and is doing what he said he wasn't going to do. Mustaine priced these so the die hard fans could get them. This guy somehow managed to get every single one which is suspicious in itself.

what do you guys think? here is a link to one that was sold at 2k by Mustaine:

read the reverb essex recording studio main page where they talk about personal responsibility and how the guitars are not owned by essex recording studio?? what?

There is a ton of crazy going on with hyper inflated attempted prices to sell gear these days.

This is another example. The "real" high dollar Mustaine guitars would be the old Jacksons (or even BC Rich) that he actually used back in the day, and even those I couldn't imagine remotely justifying this pricing.

Of course he did. How is it even a surprise? People are opportunistic scum. Nothing new.

i was just looking at their stuff for sale on reverb. in huge capital letters everything is stated to be new or rare. the ones stated to be new in huge letters, if you look at the condition, it listed as something other than new.

saw a guy on youtube talking about selling a nice core PRS, and essex sent him an offer for 400 bucks on ebay. when he declined the offer, essex sent threatening messages and tried to harass him into selling cheap via fear tactics. what a piece of work this guy is.

Their listing says Mustaine told Rolling Stone he thought it was great that Essex bought all the guitars....perhaps they could interview him now and ask him what he thinks about Essex trying to sell this guitar for 72k...

It was cool of Mustaine to list them for so cheap so fans could get them. A lot of the other reverb sales, the musicians listed them for a lot of money. I think the most mustaine charged was $2000!!

easex recording studio said they did it so megadeth fans could come by and play them! They bought one of his pedals for $75 and are asking I think $1500?

This is almost worse than the dude on eBay who stole lespaul6's Marshall.
Why?
Because they are a business and from what I'm hearing, have a reputation for this.
They say one and then do another. Fuck 'em
People=Shit

Wow I had no idea. Real shitty
So bad! He is asking 70 grand for a guitar he paid 2k for! I would be curious what mustaine has to say now that the dude is selling them. He thought it was cool when that guy said megadeth fans can stop by and play the guitars.

I think its great since all I own is old Jackson king V's but yeah that Essex guy is a total lame. I reached out once and experienced the douce first hand.

Thought he bought a few of Marty Friedman's Kellys when they went off too?

Yeah saw this awhile back, really shitty move in my opinion.
