Dear Reverber,

We take our users’ privacy and security very seriously. Out of an abundance of caution, we wanted to inform you that Reverb recently became aware of an issue relating to user contact information.

At this time, we believe that contact information, including name, address, phone number, and email, was publicly accessible for a short period of time. We do not have reason to believe that any of this information has been misused, nor do we believe that password or payment information were involved.

As soon as we learned of this issue, we immediately worked to resolve it. We conducted an investigation of the situation to determine what happened and are taking steps to prevent something like this from happening again.

**** Just got this. well its a good thing they don't have credit card or bank account info ................. oh wait. :checkthisout:

Thing about hacks is the hack likely happened 6 months ago.
And there is no possible way they can monitor sellers $$$ info or guarantee nobody was scammed or will be scammed.

Sure glad I dumped them a few yrs ago...deleted all my info.
Can you still access your purchase history? I thought about deleting it, as well due to the increased fees and taxes (it was a gold mine while it lasted); but I still like looking at the purchase history, just to see how much things have fluctuated in price, etc

Well its not like all the Government & Military agencies were hacked also ....... err um :checkthisout:

As much as I dislike Reverb and don’t use them anymore, nothing account related was mentioned. It only states name, address, email. Still unacceptable though.

Who knows what else was compromised in reality.

I had my identity stolen a few months back and they wiped out one of my bank accounts, it was not fun. Fuck this shit
Damn dude, sorry to hear that. The people doing this stuff are the greatest heights of scumbags.

The fact that having identity stolen can ruin someone’s life, doesn’t even factor into the thieves mindset.

I saw a hacker/identity thief interviewed and when they were asked about it ruining someone’s life, this loser just shrugged and said THAT PEOPLE DESERVE TO HAVE THEIR MONEY STOLEN!!! He was then asked, “what if it was someone’s life savings, that they worked day in and day out for many years to save?” He then said that they should protect their money better because if they did, they would still have it.

They need to create harsher punishments for these guys. If it was severe enough, they MIGHT think twice.

a game of, “the price is pain,” could be sufficient. Have a wheel like on wheel of fortune, and on each little slice, their is a pain distribution source and number. So it could be, “leather whip lined with razer blades X 5,” or, “one lash of the leather whip,” or, have some distribution sources be truly abysmal like, 10 seconds of HAND IN THE GARBAGE DISPOSAL!” The host of the trial would say, “ouch, sorry my friend, but 1, or maybe 2 seconds possibly leaves you with a stump and a digit or maybe two left at least giving you the appearance of a hand, by 10 seconds, wheeeewww, you sir, will be losing your hand tonight.”

punishment must be equal to crime.

having your identity stolen is such a cruel fate. The punishment has to be equally as bad, or someone who gets a few months in jail will laugh when they get out and START ALL OVER AGAIN! No, that is not acceptable.

Reverb in no way is going to admit liability when it comes to anyone's personal finaces.
Great time to update some security info.

I also got this notice. I also never add my CC info to any of these sites. Prefer to send it over to Paypal...who also will be or have been hacked but at least i have cut down my "hackpoints"

I received the same notice. Reverb has been going downhill lately, I have been doing more deals through other means. A lot of sellers are posting stuff at huge inflated prices on Reverb and not much is moving.
