A HUGE band you saw before they broke?

I saw Extreme right before their first album was released at The Channel in Boston, MA. They were really pushing the tune Kid Ego. Great show with a lot of energy!

I saw Firehouse when they were still White Heat. As a kid I ran into them a lot and got to be on a first name basis with Bill Leverty and the singer(drawing a blank now). Also saw Alice In Chains on the clash of the titans tour and they were pretty unknown at the time.

Not the same thing but met Scott Splawn before he made amps.

Older guys around here talk about going to watch AC/DC tear it up at the local university bar

I used to see Nile play quite a bit in the mid to late 90's. They're not huge compared to some of the bands mentioned in this thread, but for death metal they're pretty well known. I lived a few hours away from their hometown, so they came through regularly. It wasn't exactly a death metal haven where I was at, so they usually played smaller clubs with hardly anybody there. They always sounded good and put on great shows, though. A few albums later they came back through and played one of the larger clubs in the area and there was ton of people there, which was cool to see.

Not a huge band but saw Helmet open for Faith No More in a small club in Virginia around 92'. I was in the Air Force and my AF buddy was high school friends eith John Stanier, Helmet's drummer. He came out with all of these backstage passes around his neck, etc. And we were so jealous. Both bands destroyed.

I was at that show ! We were standing in line waiting to get in and two dudes BEAT THE FUCK out of two other dudes in the parking lot. One guy was sitting on another guy and slamming his head into the pavement, never seen anything like it.

Saw DT at The Alrosa Villa (place where Dime went down) just after when Images & Words came out. Wow. Seeing musicians like that in a bar.

Black Label Society also played there on a very early tour for them. Zakk killed!

Saw GNR open for Aerosmith just before Appetite went insane. They were great that night.
I saw GNR open for Aerosmith at Great Woods in Mansfield, GREAT show. Guns blew them off the stage though…

Welcome to Boston! Lived there for 8 years back when the Combat Zone was a bigger deal.

Pantera Opening for Wrathchild America at the Button South in Hallendale Beach, FL. It was right before or Just After CFH Came out. I still have a Dime Bag Pick from that Night.
Badass! I dig Wrathchild / Souls at Zero

I’m still here !!! Been here all my life.

I grew up between Weston and Wayland (graduated from Weston High School). The job I had through the last couple of years of high school was as a transporter at New England Baptist Hospital. I miss living there! In high school...my friends and I hung out in Framingham at Fun 'n Games arcade. Ran into Tom Scholtz on a couple of occasions. Always wished I could've run into Ric Okasek. Great place to grow up!

Seen AIC probably 92(?) at an outdoor venue with Megadeath and Anthrax.. Lane was wearing the dreds still, and I could not give a fuck..
Then Dirt hit and it was part of the soundtrack to my early to mid 90's..

Saw STP opening for Megadeth at an agricultural hall around 1992. Nobody knew who they were and got booed pretty bad.

Peen Whip at a dive bar in Montana. A cross of High on Fire, Hank 3, GG Allin, and Psychotic Waltz. They did a cover of Puscifer's cuntry boner that the good ole boys didn't think was very neat. They played so loud people were getting nauseous, vomiting, and feeling like what in the actual fuck is wrong here? Thought the roof was gonna cave in on the whole pile of shit. Fucking beautiful. Simply the best live band on planet earth. Keep your ears open this band is going places
