Joe Holmes is back!

I had the random opportunity to meet and become friends with Joe Holmes over the past year....
Joe is a low key, and very down to earth guy...and an AMAZING GUITAR PLAYER! Seriously, I’m not sure people realize how good he really is!

Joe took lessons from Randy Rhoads and you tell in his playing! He’s very classical in his approach and sees the fretboard in a unique way. We sat down a couple times and he showed me a number of exercises and scale patterns. (I’ve been playing for over 35 years and have a lot of theory and scales in my own playing...but this stuff was new and challenging).

Anyway, I got to play Joe’s ‘68 Gold Top, ‘74 Black Custom and his main “Fork” H/S/S 1973 Strat with the Floyd, all amazing guitars and tone for days! He and his wife were in the middle of moving back to California the past couple months so I never got to play thru the Jose modded Marshall’s (so disappointed...but will go visit after they get settled in Cali).

I’ve also been pushing and helping Joe get on social media (set up his Instagram and FB pages) because he’s pretty old school and not real connected online.

He’s got a couple new E.P’s coming out which will be released as (Joe Holmes) and not Farmikos...even though it’s the same singer. It’s not really a band as Joe controls and creates the music and recording.

I think he’d be killer guest on Tone Talk with Dave Friedman (hint, hint)...he’s got a lot to share.

Joe is back.... Here’s a link to the new Teaser video. Enjoy!

Well dang, I made a new thread about this this morning. Didn't see this one.

Can a mod combine them?

Good job with the new FB page @SLOgriff . I'll follow the IG too

I love all of his distressed Strat's. I copied his taste to the fullest on some of my builds. builds 2.jpg

Interested to hear what the new stuff sounds like. Bought Farmikos when it came out and there are some good tunes on there. Looks like Mike Bordin on the drums in the vid.

It’s odd but out of all the talent he’s had in his band over the years I never hear Ozzy mention any guitar player other than Randy.

Joe’s main Guitars... Ozzy bought Joe the ‘68 Gold Top.

Close up shots of “Fork”...Ozzy took a fork and scraped the front, hence the name. ‘73 Strat with the Jackson J80 hum.
