Anyone try running their BE100/50 or SmallBox through Classic Lead 80s? I’ve got one in a 112 that sounds phenomenal with my Mark IV and someone’s selling a pair locally at a good price and I’m thinking of picking them up for my 212 but am unsure how they’d sound with my BE100.

Not a big fan of the CL80 with Friedmans - not enough aggression and cut for rock n' roll. Quite nice for cleaner stuff though.

For a 212 (closed presumably?) I'd go with Creambacks. M if you like more classic, bolder midrange tones - or H for a brighter more penetrating thing. One of each also works, though the H will overpower the M a little.

We used quite a few speakers in our BE100 videos if that helps:

Correct, closed back 212 (Suhr PT). I’ve seen that particular video on the BE before and hoped for a clip with CL80. I appreciate the feedback and love the videos!

I like the CL80's with everything I have ever tried them with. Smooth and fat and not to peaky.

Pick a clip from that first video and I'll reamp it for you with a CL80 (y)

Seriously?! That’d be awesome! Holt’s Day most closely resembles my playing style.
Ok see what you think. The riffs runs twice, the first is the CL80 against the original Creamback H75, then second it's up against a V30 just for reference.

Yeah I see what you mean but I wonder how much of that can be changed with EQ. I appreciate you taking the time and effort. Thank you!

No worries, hope it helped a bit.

Yep eq'ing the amp a bit brighter helps CL80's, but if you're sensitive to more cutting tones or prefer a smoother upper mid/treble response then they are a great choice.
