MURDERATOR
get your minds out of the gutter boys...lol....on a whim I decided to go old school and started checking out razors and such. So I stumbled across a company on amazon called Viking Blade....I remember my grandpa using the old safety razors so I said fuck it and ordered the crusader model and a pack of 50 blades...the sensitive skin type. Then I ordered an old school lather set with a badger hair brush, different types of shaving soaps, as well as a hanger and stainless bowl. Once I adjusted the razor after a couple shaves....holy fuck....best shave ever boys. It's more work and a little more time consuming but worth every minute. There's a learning curve involved with using these razors but they are awesome. Fuck those disposables , and gillette and those other companies. This is the shit boys. You will not look at shaving and regular shaving cream out of a can again. In the long run it's cheaper also.

here's the one I got-

this is the soap kit-

It certainly looks like quality, almost over built.
I always shave in the hot shower and get decent results, but I agree, your type of system is the way to go to experience the very best at home.

my dad had a straight edge like that. I can't remember if I ever used it on myself. he used to ask me to do the back of his neckline when I was a kid. I was very careful, as these can hack off some skin if no careful. I currently use Harry's, have for about 5 years. More reasonable than any in store. a 4 pack of blades will last me 4 months. The blades stay good for a month easy. As for other areas, Microtouch. Works great.

I used to use that style too. I haven't shaved in decades though.
