I bought most of my gear in the 70s and 80s. OK Maybe not vintage yet but close enough in my book
now 40+ years later i decide out of the whim i dont want them anymore.
Can be anything from guitars to pedals to amps.

im getting up in age.
maybe subconsciously I dont want my family dealing with getting rid of this crap after i kick.
So off they go

my classic cars i think are next. Just no more interest anymore

or maybe life priorities just change at a certain point or age and you know what's important and not.
then its time to move on

I hobby hop a lot. I've bought and sold so many items as part of hobby hopping that I just don't even think about it any more haha. Vinyl/hifi, clothing/jackets, gear, gaming consoles/PC, etc. It's just cyclical - oh yeah, what are you selling? lol

I definitely feel that "I don't want to leave my family with this shit".

I've made a conscious effort over the last handful of years to have less bulk, but have it so my stuff should be fairly easy to sell and, while maybe not make a million dollars back, be worthwhile to sell.

I could be such a good friend to you

I can understand that approach cause sometimes it is a pain in the ass to take pics, list shit, entertain questions, entertain low balls, etc. Sometimes bringing something to GC is just easy.

that is my exact point of view and reasoning

they give 60% of what "they sell it for"
I will in most cases never get "their" selling price from anyone

like selling a used car privately for a great price and it sits and sits
. Then a dealer puts the same car on the lot for 15% more and it goes in a week

people just feel safer buying from a store
even if it cost more. plus they can finance it and or put on CC

Don't forget the hassle of shipping...
- Amps weigh a lot.
- Guitars are big and bulky and fragile.

With what I'm reading though, you should definitely snap some hasty pics of your dusty gear and post em here lol @70 Mach 1

not looking to ship anything. i sell them to GC. get my 60% and im done with it
if i try to sell privately i wont get much more than what their deal is anyways.
experience taught me that and it will sit for months wasting my time
That's pretty much what I have been doing the last two months. Offed my preamps and most of pedals online, but everything else has gone to GC.
