It is a IIC+ by the way.

So we got Gibson pricing, Gibson-esque reissuing of features not everyone wants and a Gibson QC aspect to the lettering on the front panel of the amp?

Doesn’t really fill me with a lot of confidence that was unshaken for decades under the previous ownership of Mesa. That’s a bummer. Gibson has left no breathing room for error due to their history, at least for me when it comes to Mesa. IDGAF about their guitars, I much prefer MIJ LP’s pricing/quality, but for fuck’s sake, do they have to fuck with the one company that’s been consistently great for fucking decades?

- The silkscreen artwork had to have been double-checked by multiple eyes before they went
and printed a shitload of them.

- The Mark V entire product line clearly has an + screened next to the IIC.

- In this pic you can see they did the 45 watt designator vertical so space considerations for screening
had already been considered.

All in all it's a major avoidable cluster for Gibson's first Mesa release.

My main concern is actually about the Cabclone circuitry inside of it. If it's the "old" cabclone (resistor based) or the "newest" circuitry used on the Cabclone IR (reactive load)

Guys...It's got the same front panel as the Mark V and it's several inches smaller. Are we really bitching about silk screening?

The JP-2C had to have the FX loop redone after the first 100 or so units. Was that Gibson's fault too?

It's a new product. If they can fit a little + on there and it's worth it enough for them to change it then they will.

More about the screw up. If they can mix up something so simple what else might have been missed.

Just a terrible look out of the gate for Gibson.

Owners Manual section heading is also IIC.
a. they did it on purpose
b. someone fucked up

I always go back to the Van Halen M&M story for things like this.
They requested a bowl of them with all the yellow ones removed.
When I first read it I thought they were just prima donnas but then read
Roth explain why they did it.

Their rider had all sot of instructions - many of them regarding safety.
If Roth walked into the dressing room and found yellow M&Ms he knew
someone wasn't paying attention and other safety stuff may have been missed.

I always think of that when I see obvious issues like this.

My QC brain always thinks B first.

It says IIC+. It’s only to refer to the channel name.

The fact we're here debating it on day 2 of the products release kinda makes the point
that it was a pretty whacked way to do it using both designations in different areas.

That's all.

Debate - wrong word.
It's non-definitive.
I ain't buying one so I don't care.
Just QC brain farts.

Same. And I thought the same thing and was surprised I was paying less for the new Uber Ultra than the mk7. Which is surprising, because that Bogner has A LOT of ways you can fine tune the tone/response. Still have high hopes for the mk7 and hope to try one!
It will be interesting to how different the compression of mark 7 is ? Did they go back and open it up or keep compression more and more like the trend
