Was in a local music store mom & pop. Owner comes in and and says anyone want to buy a music store ?.

I’ve noticed lots of nice gear up for sale. Not much moving. Even if deals in favor of the buyer.

I think economy in the shitter. Was watching a video they’re saying car sales, electronics, homes sales pretty much at a standstill.

PRS just listed some of their new guitars at killer prices. On the other hand Gibson has almost raised Mesa products up 30% or more.

Sign of the times maybe or ?

Your thoughts ?

i just watched a video talking about record amounts of repo'd cars they cant get rid of because the dealers cant sell the stock they have, and how its gonna get worse with student loans kicking back in now or whatever the story is with that. pretty much yes, everything is fucked

Not looking to start a shitstorm but if you print that much money and send it overseas eventually it will catch up to us. It’s insane how much the cost of everything has gone up over a short period of time.

Yes billions overseas. Sticking our noses in other people’s business.

What about the taxpayers who are hurting. Basically they could care less. See what they do not what they say if you want the truth.

Was sent this meme yesterday. It’s fir both sides.

It's the LAW OF LARGE NUMBERS.........if any central bank prints enough money out of thin air without adequate GDP to balance it then devaluation of the currency will follow judging by thousands of years of economic history.

The US government hasn't debated appropriated budgets in over 20 years, they keep passing Continuing Resolutions and Omnibus Budget packages that no Congressman or Senator even reads. This is how you get 34 Trillion in debt, rising interest rates on the way to hyperinflation leading to collapse of the currency.

Both parties are equally guilty and have sold this country out.

A picture says a thousand words!:2thumbsup:

The FED says inflation is under control that's becasue they exclude FOOD AND ENERGY costs from calculating inflation.

On a side note, the economy is great in Washington DC and the surrounding collar counties sucking up all that printed money. Meanwhile the real economy falters.....

I figure the market has to straighten itself out after the “Shit, we need the guitars/gear we already have sold to get made but we also have to ramp up production because look at all these people buying guitars and gear during this pandemic!” and then when the dust settles there’s people who got sick of waiting on shit and cancelled orders that were still getting made, companies who jumped the gun and naively thought this gear splurge would be the new normal, people who racked up credit card debt now trying to offload the shit they bought to combat inflation, blah blah blah.

Multiple things all happened at once. The used market has been correcting itself with prices going down (love seeing 90’s MIJ Ibanez for $500-$800 again) and mass produced pedals to be sane prices, 6505’s back down to $600-$700. It’s not fully there yet but it’s a fuck of a lot better than it was last year.

Yes all true. You guys are spot on. I think we are at peak sales and prices. Companies that want to weather the storm will have to adjust or become irrelevant. Prices of everything up. People aren’t spending because they don’t have the spare cash anymore.
I think it’s just going to continue. Personally now is probably a good time to move unused gear and take a little hit than wait till it gets worse. IMO.

Ukraine and Israel are this presidency's priorities. Biden is 100% to blame for this country being in the shitter.

And student loan forgiveness? FUCK YOU BIDEN. It took me 20 years to pay mine off, and you want my taxes to go towards paying off some deadbeats that think they're ENTITLED to not have to pay theirs? What a fucked up though process. It's buying votes from deadbeats. Hopefully, those that paid theirs off vote for Trump. Like him or not, all these shitstorms wouldn't be happening under his watch.

I went to the grocery store last week and bought my usual assortment that's always been around $100. The same exact items came to $185. Regular unleaded in my area is almost $7/gallon. Meanwhile, a friend from Georgia sent me a photo of regular in her area and it was $2.85.

Geesh ..... where are you located ?? It's about 3.60 over here in New England

From a music gear perspective, I think mom n' pop / regional chains are not able to compete with SW, MF, GC, etc. unless they find a niche like Music Zoo, Wildwood, etc.

The couple here definitely stay afloat on lessons and renting violins and whatever grade schoolers play, they’ve had the same epiphones and squires hanging for years
