When US Conservatives support Russia you know things are a mess.

Any argument that life got significantly better for regular Russians after the fall of the USSR, is complete bullshit. Putin was KGB. He’s effectively been in control of Russia since 1999.
Sorry man if you're Russian Orthodox things are much better under Putin. He's restored monasteries and churches all over Russia. I sometimes think you too are caught up in western narratives. He's a better leader for Russia than a Biden or Obama have been for this country.

Dude, if you think life for any regular, not wealthy person in Russia is anything close to good you’re mistaken. I think you might be conflating the fact that Bolsheviks aren’t burning churches or busting up prayer meetings anymore to mean life is better. Yeah these people are more free to worship as they please than under Soviet Russia, but they’re still dirt poor and can’t afford basic necessities.

So we’re clear, I don’t get my opinions on Russia from news or the internet. I’ve been a Russophile since I was a teenager and I personally know Russian ex pats, some who still have family in Russia.

Don’t confuse my assessment of Russian life with any innate desire to believe that average Russians hate their country. The days of Russians being held prisoner in their homeland are by and large over. No one from the government is combing the world looking for defectors anymore. Russians are proud to be Russian even if they’re having trouble feeding their families.

Russians are not free to criticize their leaders or their government. It may not be enforced as extensively and brutally as the Orwell book, but if you think you can publicly insult Putin and not disappear or end up in prison you’re sadly mistaken. You’ll never see dissention in Russian news media. Those two facts alone prove Russia is very far from a free country.

LOL
This is hilarious !
Are you living in a time warp deep inside your mom's basement?
Maybe you were asleep when he killed Alexander Litvinenko and a few innocent UK citizens.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poisoning_of_Alexander_Litvinenko

He just invaded a country unprovoked and is killing civilians daily.
The IIC has deemed him a genocidal maniac
https://www.icc-cpi.int/news/situat...ants-against-vladimir-vladimirovich-putin-and

He's a fucking straight murderous villain dictator and Russia is absolutely 100% dog shit on the heel of the world.

If they didn't have nukes or oil nobody would deal/talk with them.
1 million Russian citizens left at the begining of the war and they were the cream of the crop IT/computer pros and or friends of democracy and anti Putin.
There is no free speech in Russia anymore.
Putin just turned the clock back 35 years and in the process destroyed the Russian economy.
Good luck getting parts for all of those USA and Euro aircraft

The country has been turned into a full on police/surveillance totalitarian state.
All of the media is controlled by Putin.
Get out of line - go to prison or worse.
Go move to Russia if you love that cunt so much comrade.
Most of those things could be said about the US at this point tbh.
Which countries military has killed more innocent people in the past 30 years, Russia or the US?

I don't think Putin is a great guy, he is a typical corrupt scumbag politician, but acting like western countries have the moral high ground is peak retard.
The actions in Ukraine are sort of on autopilot for a nation like Russia, it's not really even up to Putin to invade or not, it's how nations and the systems of geopolitics work, and the people in the US that caused this mess KNEW goddamn well what the reaction would be. The most evil people in this mess are the US neolibs/Obama/Obama cabinet members/clique/PNAC fuckheads. Victoria Nuland is the architect of this mess, and she is married to Robert Kagan, the guy largely responsible (along with Bill Kristol) for us going in and destroying Iraq and killing 300k civilians a long with that. These people an their ilk are the comic book villains, and you idiots are too dumb to pick up what they are doing. Putin is just a thuggish dictator.

Not much here I disagree with.

Remember when Obama made fun of Shit Romney because he said Russia was an adversary and the press sucked Obama off for that?
Liberals intelligence is so weird, it's mostly allocated to selective memory and doing things with their brain and thoughts to rearrange them in complex ways to adhere to authority.

Yeah I remember that. It was before the neocons became never trumpers and flipped democrat. A lot of conservatives are Russophobes as well. Probably a Cold War relic and the result of the neocons having controlled the GOP for so long.

One of these days these whiny right wing bitches are going to have to start playing as dirty as the dems if they want to start actually winning for once. Desantis actually seems to understand this to some degree.

Define wealthy in Russia. You talk like you have deeper knowledge about it so give me some insight here. I know it is not wealthy like the United States. I will say I don't view quality of life strictly through money and ownership of stuff like a lot of Americans do. Most stuff is just a bunch of material junk. An orthodox church on every street corner counts for lots of money to me. So do vast untouched forests open to someone who is willing to work.

I watched a priest with a large house on an acre pay like $50 US for his property taxes. I like low or no recurring bills, and they are an expensive thing here. I'm not saying I would move there, but it does have features of great interest to me. I don't get involved in politics so that doesn't carry as much weight with me either. We are already ruled by a bunch of baby sodomizing child sacrificing satanic commie bastards so I am open to other places. There is no woke there. My money seems....welcomed. Tell me I'm wrong.

I would bet large money you’d be there less than a month and end up with a new found love for the country you were born in. I’ve never been there so I don’t really have any insight. My understanding from Russians I’ve talked to is that you have connected, rich people, middle class people and dirt poor people. The rich are about 1-2%, the middle class is about 10% and everyone else is basically fucked. Middle class in Russia means you earn about the equivalent of 15k a year. You aren’t owning any land unless you fall into that upper 2%. Russian infrastructure ( water, heat, etc. ) is still old shit from the Soviet era, it’s failing spectacularly and there is no money to replace it. Right this minute there are a lot of unhappy people who went without heat or hot water, with sub zero temps, for significant periods of time. Their pipes often freeze, then when the hot water comes back on their shit busts and floods their shitty one room apartments. Life isn’t much easier in Russia than it was when they were serfs. Maybe it’s not a good barometer, since they are clearly here and not back in the motherland, but I don’t know or know of any Russian ex pats that want to move back.

I don’t know I’ve never been but my late buddy said that St. Petersburg was his favorite city in Europe. My instinct is that critics are biased by Cold War propaganda. I’m not saying that the quality of life is better there than here. It might very well be soon enough though.

Texas infrastructure is still old shit from the soviet era, no worries there!

I have shopped properties online so I guess that would make me middle class if I could get residency because some decent looking places are within reach. This is what I'm saying with the way costs are going here. I consider places overseas because I can live well for cheap. My wife can do remote medical billing and coding from some Siberian internet cafe while I cut the taiga down haha.

You will not be middle class after you run out of whatever money you bring with you dude.
