I'm getting a new guitar today, and I need some suggestions for a...dare I say? Country song to learn

I didn't think I'd ever say that as I'm an 80s metal head to the day I die, however, this relic'ed Tele I'm getting today has me thinking maybe I need to learn a couple fun, easy country songs; especially the more modern kind that have more rock based solos than all that fancy chicken pickin' stuff, which I'll never be able to do.

That is a beautiful salmon colored tele. You can even rip some Iceman licks with that neck bucker!

I think Chattahoochee by Alan Jackson would be a fun one to learn and play.

I’ve been trying to get this solo this week…kinda hard (for me anyways)

Here's the solo that put Brent Mason on the map. How hard could it be? :)

Seriously though, telecaster bridge pickups have a way of making just about everything you play on them sound kind of country. Just pick out any old scale and strike your pick close to the saddles and you should be well on your way. If you want to sound extra country, maybe try pulling the odd note here and there, snapping the string against the fretboard with your middle or ring fingers.
