I wouldn't doubt that. Officially we have more people incarcerated than any other nation except places like China aren't honest in reporting their numbers. I'm not saying doesn't more or less suck, I just think at this stage it sucks a little less than most places. Kind of like Texas. It still sucks but it just sucks less than most other states.

Yes but the Republicans have a choice of other candidates and still Trump is beating them to the nomination. So they are really are stupid. Just about any other Republican candidate would be better.

I have no idea who Rachel Maddow is. They are my own thoughts on Trump - not coming from some news source at all. It's based on Trump's behaviour and his own utterances.

As for guns and conservatism... No... can't agree. Maybe as far as a conservative goes in the US... but in any other western country people don't really give a shit about them. We don't eat, breathe and live guns... We don't need them day to day. They just aren't in our consciousness. I don't think you understand that. Things are very different here. I can't even tell when the last time I even saw someone with a gun in the open here. I think maybe 8 years ago or so I saw a guy with a rifle in in a bag in public in a very country town. How is not carrying guns anti conservative? because in Australia even when they were legal they weren't everywhere like in the US so there is nothing to conserve as such. It was never a way of life here. Most straight laced traditional people here never carried on about guns so how is maintaining that status quo anything other than being conservative in the context of our society.

Can you still have a rifle on a rural property yep... just not an AK47. Go shoot some pigs or a rabbit. No probs... That's how it should be imo. Leave the soldiering to the soldiers.

None of those other choices have even a remote chance of beating Biden. Nikki Haley is funded by democrats and establishment republicans. In fact, the entire political spectrum here fears Trump. That ought to tell you something.

As for guns, the snide little comment " Eat breathe and live guns" was rather insulting. It also shows that you don't know shit about America in general and people who aren't afraid of guns specifically.

One of our best allies during WW II.
Don't really care for any politics theirs or ours but at least the Aussie politics aren't a shitshow like the US.

I'm not afraid of guns. I don't care about them - apathy. However, there is no way I'd change the status quo on them here for what's going on over there. That would be insanity. There is no need for them here. I pretty sure I didn't bring them up. As for the insulting quip... it's not meant to be insulting but it's accurate and I'm calling bs on knowing shit about America. People in America are bloody gun mad... Just say gun control and they run around going berserk like an ant's nest after a kid scuffs it with their shoe. That is the truth.

We can go out hunting with a rifle if we want. You can get a licence for a rifle. I already mentioned that somewhere. I don't have a problem with that. However the guy I'm responding to here (who is a friend) has a what I'd call a literal arsenal and he is absolutely invested in them. If he says he isn't he'd be lying. He has them coming out of his ears like I have guitars. Also pretty sure I didn't bring up guns in this thread. I responded to his comment about them.

I have killed many deer with my "assault" rifle. Actually, I can use just about any gun to assault someone so I'm not sure what that term even means. I think you mean "sporting rifle".
