I grew up on the south side and then a little later Arnold.
That's terrible man. It's a jungle in STL. People don't get it but it doesn't matter. Have you seen the "Spanish Lake" movie? Guy got shit over it but it's 100% trueI was doing a job in Walnut Park. Broad daylight some dude comes running out of an alley. Another dude chasing him shooting. Hits the dude, dude falls, other dude walks up to him and puts about 6 or 7 more in him then calmly walks back through the alley he came out of. Took almost an hour for cops to show up.
I was in the band that did the soundtrack to that movie. That's terrible man. It's a jungle in STL. People don't get it but it doesn't matter. Have you seen the "Spanish Lake" movie? Guy got shit over it but it's 100% true
My family is all from Spanish Lake. I was baptized in St Aloysius. I swam my days at Pipefitters. My dog was raised by the Mollerus's. But that movie came out and people said "it was racist" and "propaganda". That movie told no lies.I was in the band that did the soundtrack to that movie
I agree. Recently the State got rid of the "Adopt a road" program because some homeys adopted the road in the name of some dude who killed a cop. When the state figured it out they took the sign down. It was deemed racist and they were threatened with a lawsuit so they quickly changed the story and eliminated the entire program stating budget concerns. I can go get my signs anytime after August 1.My family is all from Spanish Lake. I was baptized in St Aloysius. I swam my days at Pipefitters. My dog was raised by the Mollerus's. I'm familiar with the area. Glad I don't have to drive up there every day anymore.Rig Talk Episode 1 on Youtube is gonna be me picking up @SgtThump and taking him to White Barn in North County. It will quickly cut to riff clips after that.
Oh yeah. The bad kids home! You passed the clocktower on the paddock on the left and kept going straight. I never went straight on that road. I turned left and down to Ferrantes and some Iggy's. It pays to be a good kid!I'm familiar with the area. Glad I don't have to drive up there every day anymore.
When I was a teenager I did a year in a DYS "Facility" which is now called Missouri Hills. It's as far north on Bellefontane rd. as it goes before you hit the river. About 2 months in I jumped out a second story window, made my way through neighborhoods to a Pizza Hut in Paddock Hills Shopping Center, called a cab and went to my girlfriend's house in Fenton. My friends thought it was stupid to escape from jail in a cab. I thought it was brilliant though. I actually did the first 2 months of that in a place that still exists called Hogan Street Correctional Facility. It was pretty fucked up. I was the only white boy there. And honestly I didn't even really do anything that heinous. I was just on what seemed to be never ending probation, got in a few fights, told my parents to fuck off and went and stayed at my girlfirend's house. I guess when you're 15 you're not allowed to do that.
Dude, I wasn't really a bad kid. Especially by today's standards. Smoked a little weed, skipped school, got into a lot of fights. Never was a thief or a thug. That was about 40 years ago. They had different ideas about weed and what made a bad kid those days. And my parent's were strict and religious and thought I would end up dead.Oh yeah. The bad kids home! I think of some of the shit I have seen and done and can’t believe I worked and wasn’t sentenced to prison. Me and a buddy lit some carbide in a toilet in high school…brutal. Every toilet in the facility shot water to the ceiling. Today a kid would be in jail for terroristic activities for that. Other shit as well. Damn….Dude, I wasn't really a bad kid. I'm joking Thump is a killer playerI never worry.
I'm not huge on hair metal, but I have to admit that is one of a few Ratt songs I really like. Along with Back For More, Wanted Man. you're in love. Really both those albums are pretty good. I also like Motley Crue's first album. And Yngwie.
I ended up living in Buena Park and hanging out on the strip at the tail end of all that. Really though I was always more into Sabbath and Zeppelin and Rush and Yes.
I used to make steel pipe bombs out of shotgun powder. Dual pipes with a fuse twisted together and a sparkler to give me extra time to get away. Blew a hardwood eucalyptus log with a hollow in it to smithereens. Again, these days you'd end up in serious trouble! I'm lucky I didn't blow myself up crimping them in a vice.I think of some of the shit I have seen and done and can’t believe I worked and wasn’t sentenced to prison.
